PGA-2310+BZLS  by:biru  translate:ackcheng

This project took me 9 months to complete. Now, the beautiful sound is coming out!!!. In this project, I use the remote volume control provided by www. DIYrealaudio.com. Because of the special requirement, I would like to thank Ben for changing the software control just for me! You can see that the case is a clone of the Pass 0.5 preamp (please note that this clone is for DIY only, no intention for commercial selling) All circuit boards were laid by my friend Henry. It took more than one person to complete a beautiful projectˇK..

The circuit used in the preamp is PASS LABˇ¦s BZLS. A very famous circuit. Why do I choose this circuit? Well, thought that would be a perfect match for my next project Aleph 1.2!! The whole chassis is divided into 3 parts the power supply + volume control, R and L channel. To ensure that there is no RFI from the transformer, I specifically made a copper shield to cover it. The 750R resistor for the B+ was also changed to use an expensive CADDOCK resistor. All other filtering caps are BHC. Other resistors used were RA.

In the power supply, there are 5 transformers which draws too much current and can break the fuse, so there is a toggle electric switch to control the on/off. Since I am only using a Denon poser amp, there are some restricted dynamics when used with my ATC-20 speaker, but the musicality is first class. If I can finish my Aleph 1.2, this new amp will bring my system to another level.

The remote volume control module are especially well designed and very convenient to use. The PGA2310 is also know to be one of the very best volume control IC currently available!
